Alright, despite all the little bugs and hangups, I can officially say Trilo has the easiest interface I've ever had the pleasure of picking up. Here's what I've been working on for the past week or so.

Really great cover and nice attention to detail with all the instrument parts.

@ImATrackMan: Great song! I really love the sound of PSG+SCC in chiptune music!! This is what I made the tracker for

Nice to hear you think it's a good usage example. The TMU and a .dsk are available in the video description if anyone wants to check it out.

Thanks, I'm a really big fan of the music in the Famicom game "Gimmick!" (which actually has a PSG in the cartridge running with the clock divider on) and I primarily love the brass instruments it uses on the Famicom's pulse channels, so I decided to steal them for this. I think they worked pretty well.

Nice to see that it's not just me. We made, and designed the tracker originally just to help the MOAM project get as close to Konami quality as we could imagine, and then people like Gryzor87 and you, and other people I could mention suddenly worked their magic with it. It's a huge compliment, and it makes me very happy. Smile Apparently my ideas of how a tracker should be are not so crazy after all.
For now, I can only dream of what people will do with the FM version, when it comes out.

Another strange and very annoying bug. Again, 60Hz only.

At times when (un)muting channels (seems to usually be 4 and 5) the tracker will crash spectacularly on playback. You'll mute/unmute a channel and usually you'll hear a strange noise for a tick or two. If you don't save when you hear the sound, all changes are lost because if you play the song, you'll get garbage noises over a blank pattern (no matter if it was full before) and when it stops, there'll be blank vertical lines of whatever the "main" color is on the screen. Restarting is the only way to get back to what you were doing.

Hi, I found the bug. It didn't have anything to do with (de)muting the channels. It's a bug in the initialization in the start of the replay of the music. While the initialization is preparing the music replay using a init buffer the replay function start playing assuming the buffer is actual pattern data (but it is code). It only happens on 60Hz.

I'll release a fix asap.

Thanks for the issue report.

Hi,

I've released an updated version: Trilotracker V0.9.2

  • [FIX] Fixed bug where TT could crash on normal MSX2 on 60Hz.
  • [ADD] Added manual adjustable SCC slot in the configuration menu.

Something seems to be corrupting the first and third bytes of wave data when the on startup, but it's not visible in the instrument editor. It seems to fix itself after a few plays/slot selections, but I have to sometimes go into the editor and toggle each byte up/down to fix it. That or my files just saved badly.

EDIT: I think something was off on my side. I start the program up, put in Salamander and select slot 2-3 and everything's fine. This is super cool, thank you.

I finally managed to put together an original song after a while for a goth-loli themed collab album using TT 0.9.2.
