Is there a list somewhere of how many interrupts "wait" each speed setting is supposed to represent?

I (spritesarebetter) discussed this briefly with Huey and John a few years ago in the comments under this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97-WoqQw574 but I need a "complete" list.

The reason I ask this is, that while working on my Bad Apple!! cover I tried for a bit to find a "double speed" equivalent of certain speed settings, but couldn't find an exact match.

Also I had some trouble matching the beat/tempo of the original.

Another question: I don't know if it was asked or explained before, but how the speed equalization work? I assume there is some extra wait added when in 60hz mode, but at what point and how much?

A wait is done on every 6th tick. In other words, every 6th tick is skipped, resulting in 50 effective ticks per second. That is for 50 Hz oriented software (which I think TT is).

So if the nr of ticks per step in that list you ask for is a multiple of 5, you can avoid the (slight) shuffle-like effect that speed equalization introduces.

For 60 Hz oriented software, speed equalisation on 50 Hz works by counting two ticks every 5th tick. Then for shuffle-free music you want a multiple of 6 ticks per step.

Hmm i now see i have asked/talked this before in this topic, but it was regarding the last part of my question (the speed equalization option in TT regarding 50hz vs60hz. Thanks for reminder Big smile

I am not trying to disable the shuffle like effect, I wanted to play back a pattern exactly twice as fast. Ill try take a second look sometimes with your info.

https://youtu.be/z9Wp3rhg84A uploaded this a while ago, not really serious but more for fun. I know this will never happen since it is totally beyond the scope of trilotracker, but I still dream of midi triggering of patterns in tt. Because my manual timing is terrible as you can hear :)

where from can we find the last version of TriloTracker?
and also, i’m struggling to run the version i found (.dsk file - has msxdos2 files, boots into basic, and doesn't accept "call system"), how can we run it?

Msxdos 2 is 2 parts: files on disk and rom (either from cartridge or build in msx if you have turbo r) and you need them both. Also the disk with files needs to be properly formatted for msxdos 2 to boot into dos prompt.

thanks! i guess so msxdos22.rom is needed? where should we place it? (OpenMSX)

and "properly formatted for msxdos2" means we need to add or verify some kind of label in the imagedisk directory area with a hex editor or something like? or formating with some tool? (would be great if openmsx-catapult would allow us to create and format imagefloppies and imageharddisks in both msxdos2 and msxdos1 formats somehow automatically) - these kind of stuff i’m constantly struggling or forgetting about, would be great seeing it facilitated somehow

Openmsx? Just emulate a turbo r.

The trilotracker download dsk should work. Otherwise when I create dsk images myself I use disk-manager http://www.lexlechz.at/en/software/DiskMgr.html and choose dos 2. :)
