openMSX can only do it via diskmanipulator, which doesn't have an GUI at the moment. But it works fine Smile See http://openmsx.org/manual/diskmanipulator.html

You can also copy the files in a folder and use dir-as-disk. That is MSX-DOS2 compatible by default. No need to create images.

Yes. That side project is abandoned.

I'm working on the last bugs (in TTFM and TTFM) before I can release this weekend.

im really looking forward to toy around with the sample playback funcion. is that part of the upcoming release?

That part is still experimental and needs more work/testing. But it is accessible ([F3]). The screens are not finished yet and some features are missing (like editing, saving and looping). Also the application to generate the samples is not yet available. I'll include a few example sample to play with though.

The sample feature is the LoFi samples concept by Arturo. He is helping with the wav converter.

oh i see. is it the same technique used as in this old movie ?

I always assumed this was based on that other pcm playback thing that required 5 channels for 1 6bit pcm sample playback from a few years back

No, Vector Wars was using a PCM player on SCC based on 4 channels played on different phases in order to emulate one channel at higher sample rate (on SCC you get 8bit at 7680Hz).

The player in TriloTracker is a different thing and It is specialized for human voice.
For of each frame (1/60 of sec), the encoder extracts the base frequency (pitch) and the best waveform to be used with that pitch to approximate the voice frame (32 samples).
As a result you can play a different voice samples on each channel and use the samples as instruments modulating the pitch. Moreover the data rate of each channel is relatively low (about 2KB/sec).

After quite some time I finally release an updated version of TT. Not only SCC but also FM and SMS (Sega Master System) versions!

TriloTracker TTSCC, TTFM and TTSMS V0.10b

  • Currently cross-loading (FM<->SCC<->SMS) into the different TT versions is not always working. That will be fixed in the future.
  • The samples in TTSCC are still experimental and far from finished.

Have fun playing around with the trackers.
Documentation is moved to github repository and can be found here https://github.com/cornelisser/TriloTracker/blob/master/docu...
