If you are such a brave man to plug the uridium cart after the boot, this from basic should solve any mirroring issue on HB-10P and HP-20P

You could try to create a small rom that does the workaround searches for the uridium cart then jumps to the start adress? I could be overoptimistic but I did similar things for getting turbo to work on floppy based games.

But you should plug it in slot 1 while the cart is in slot 2. If you have a flash cart, it is by far simpler I send you a patched version of the uridium rom so you can flash it directly.
Actually doing this we have found an HP-20P that boots thanks to the patch, but that hangs randomly during the gameplay
I suspect it could be something caused by the vdp status register, this is why I'm asking msxkun and to varkyrie to do a test with the free rom on their HP-20P.
The free version uses the vdp status register to do sprite split, so if the problem is there, it will appear also in the free version after playing for a while

Hi Msxkun
a last test: does the free version of uridium work on BOTH your HB-20P machines?
You could experience a random hang after a while the machine is on on the older HB-20P due to an HW glitch in the status register that could appear after the power converter gets hot.

Do you see two active SATs running the rom in the "standard" subdir in this package ?
http://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/development/64-sprites-screen
could you try it on both the machine waiting a few minutes to have the machines at their working temperature?

I'll try when I can, I've been doing lazy things after switching my 20P's off. And these days I'm quite busy, so maybe at netxt weekend... :/

MsxKun, good, so it’s confirmed then that there are two revisions of the HB-20P Smile.

Out of curiosity, you don’t see a distinguishing indication in the model, type or serial number do you?

Thank you for Uridium conversion! Smile The more I play, the more I like it! Smile There are couple of things missing though, kamikaze satellite, which makes game a bit harder, is missing and end of stage mini game is missing too.

John, I must say I like you SCC+PSG arrangement more than PSG only. Smile Though, I have played much with music turned almost off, as it feels more familiar for me. Smile It was a great thing that music volume could be tuned to desired level! Smile But for some reason, one can´t completely mute it off. Question I liked the way SCC starts to lose "pure sound" when volume is set to 13 - 15, SCC sound starts to get "inaccurate", the way John described Commodore 64´s SID sound. Smile I like that! I do really hope, you could use that kind of sound in your arrangements some day, John! Smile Yes, I know you are a pure sound guy, but I can wish at least. Wink

Hi everyone!
Don't know if this is the right place to post about this, but I've got a strange problem with the Uridium cart I purchased from Repro Factory.
When I tried the ROM on blueMSX, the game was fast and nippy. On my NMS-8280, though, the original cart is horribly slow. Any advice? =(
Thanks in advance!

Please ignore my previous post, it's now been 'moved' to a separate thread. Sorry! Tongue

Satellite and bonus game do not fit in rom, sorry.
Volume controls were there only to fix scc vs psg balance, there is no way to turn off music.

by using a flash cart or the ODO ram loader:
