Just to be sure, also tried it on real OPL4 hardware but got the same results.

I released VGMPlay 1.4. A small release this time.

Changes:

  • New chips: SAA1099
  • New sound expansions: SoundStar
  • Fixed MSX-AUDIO muting

Thanks for your efforts. Nice job!

Any clues as to why the Carnivore SCC is not detected with the A1WX's turbo enabled?

Activating the turbo, either through the Carnivore menu or via software, the SCC is not detected, for example, when executing this file.

Unfortunately this symptom cannot be replicated on openMSX.

System:
Panasonic FS-A1 WX (64K RAM / 128K VRAM)
Carnivore 2 (Slot 1)
Nextor 2.1.1

If you need more information please let me know.

Thanks

Interesting, you used exactly the same configuration in openMSX?

Ah, I think I understand. The turbo in openMSX only affects the CPU. But on real machines it may also affect the clock that devices get.

Thanks Grauw! After flashing with FF's detection in the main slot is flawless, so with or without the BIOS dipswitch in 'ON' position.

However, in the Tecnobytes slotexpander VGMPlay still 'sees' a normal MoonSound cartridge.

I have still the same problem. I have in slot 1 my GR8NET. In slot 2 I have the Tecnobytes slot expander (first version). In this slot expander I put the Dalsori 2 in slot 2-0. VGMPLAY detects it as being a Moonsound but no sound at all actually. When I put the Dalsori directly in slot 2 it's detected as a Dalsori.

I flashed the dalsori with the command: FPMT F FF /s20 /t1 and it flashed the 0-20 area. I never flashed the Dalsori with the MSX AUDIO BIOS but just in case I filled this with FF as was recommended.

@Avkooi @Grauw Anything I am missing here? How can I get the Dalsori to be detected and give sound?

One more thing: all other software like dutch moonsound veterans music disk (DMV) and the Dalsori tools from TNI work fine with the Dalsori.
