Hi, I'm visiting Copenhagen today and will stay for a couple of days. Was wondering if there is an MSX scene here or a retroshop where I can find MSX games possibly. Any recommendations?

Cheers!

Had the same plans when visiting the town. Could not find even a small second hand shop there...

Retro game shops are really not that common in Europe. And if you do find one, all they typically sell is console games.

True. There is, however, the possibility to get something on the flea market. In Germany, for example, flea markets are organized on large open air parking places near universities on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays during spring-autumn.

Ruben og Bobby Barber shop with retro games shop
Chassis arcade Arcade gaming and retro game shop

Though do not expect to see any MSX stuff there.

in Århus there is: https://epicpanda.dk/shop/frontpage.html

They have som retro consoles, but are incredibly expensive. No MSX.

There is no MSX scene as so. There are few individuals who have the machines though. MSX is nothing you will find on flea markets. I can agree with Alexey, that flea markets in Germany do have usually retro stuff to offer.

Anyway you can always try your luck with searching for flea markets on map here: www.markedskalenderen.dk
There will be plenty of these in Copenhagen, in the weekends.

The best option is to visit retro fairs , though they are held usually once a year. I have only one time seen an MSX game (single cartridge) for sale.

Here you will find passionate people with a lot of retro computers, consoles and retro stuff. Most likely to find anything MSX. Retro expo is in Copehagen @ 21. SEPTEMBER 2019

I should have a look at a flea market in Germany once. Its just a quick 30min drive away. But here where I live, I have never once seen any retro games other then for consoles at the flea markets. The oldest games you find are typically Gameboy games, and you sometimes find something like an N64 cartridge. Mostly it is newer stuff like Wii, Xbox, Playstation and some newer PC games. You don't even find C64 games or hardware here, which would have been very common back then.

In the summer I did attend a flea market in Germany (Hannover) - there were; snes, nes, n64, c64, some spectrum games, atari 2600 cartridges, some broken sega megadrive, and some newer machines as gameboy. Few years ago I did buy a big lot of Amiga stuff on the way through Germany. My wife was about to kill me X-). Had to unload and reload whole trunk to fit this stuff in the car. We were just starting 3 weeks of vacation.....just imagine how much I had to hear afterwards about those "aliens" in the car X-). Evil Evil Evil Evil

MSX stuff is quite rare in Germany as well. You can find some MSX related offers on ebay-kleinanzeigen.de, but I haven't seen anything MSX-related at the flea markets for many years. Game consoles and games can be easily found. Seen Amiga and GameGear stuff too.

Nowadays you practically don't see any MSX stuff at Dutch flea markets. But only 10 years ago you stumbled upon MSX everywhere at those events...

I had the chance to visit a retro game shop in Rome three weeks ago. No MSX at all except for a beautiful NMS 8250 which was lying on the floor among other stuff (first day after the summer break)...
