Argon: for that comment you got a pack of ultra-envy people, 20 Euro for a good complete CPK is something unreal lucky. You could have won 90 million Euro Jackpot as well Wink

I had to buy three incomplete sets for building one good set (better than is for sale now) a long time ago. It's hard to say what I paid for my complete CPK in the end (even after I sold the extras), but it was for sure at least couple of hundreds.

All Konami games were produced in very many copies in Japan. They are not yet very hard to find.

Not actually true. Some games were made only in small quantities/few are left. And that makes them hard to find. Loose carts are easier and cheap to find, but if you collect only complete ones, loose games are not in focus.

If you disagree, please send me an offer for a complete and really good Athletic Land. Not the "I love" version (easy and common), but the normal one. I'm interested in buying, it doesn't have to be exactly cheap.

The strange thing is that's it's hard to find the game complete (in good condition). Often the manual is missing. In my case I bought the box and manual in Europe and the cartridge in Japan.

I don’t understand the prices for mini versions of Konami cartridges either, it’s often common games, just in an uncommon box.

It comes to relatively small batch of production run for those minis and same time relatively large amount of people wanting them. That's why the prices keep high on them...

What is astounding to me how the Metal Gear 2 prices keeps on high level. That is not an rare game at all.

That is my cartridge of Volguard.

I'm glad I got it for cheap. In general, it costs 6 to 10 times more expensive without packaging. It makes me happy to own some originals. I do not want to sell it.
Speculators try to increase prices to the maximum by lying, and it deprives me (us!) of this pleasure. I deplore it.

I believe it's not an argue here that loose (cart only) games are usually cheap - unless they are something really spectacular and more or less unique find.

This is not to argue. This is just to show that I really have. It is impossible to prove that it is rare, very rare or not at all. I saw it often for sale even with box but the boxes do not interest me.
In general, the rarest games are the worst. You probably know it.

Man you don´t want to understand what i am saying or I explain myself wrong. Volguard casio edition loose is as common as you said. but i am not looking for that because as you say finding it (LOOSE) is EASY. I,m looking for the real one COMPLETED that is the only way I collect games and computers and belibe me that a COMPLETE CASIO ED COPY (BOX,MANUAL AND CART) is not common at all. 10 years looking around only see 2 if you call that commond.....

AS AN EASY EXAMPLE I SAY THIS:
IT IS NOT THE SAME TO OWN A FERRARY CAR THAT HAVE A FERRARY TIRE . THE CAR IS VALUE AROUND 300000 EUROS AND THE TIRE JUST 1000 EUROS.
I could life without a ferrary but don´t want to have the tire stock on my garage even knowing that Is from a ferrary.

With all my collection is the same i want the hole thing not just a part of it (even knowing that is a lot cheaper).

there is a lot people collecting msx stuff some and others play with emulators. An emulator player could think than a real MSX is useless and on my side i don´t like emulators. But I do respect them and they respect us, so please let us respect one each other because is the real spirit of this forum and not arguing about who has it bigger.....

There always seems to be this kind of yelling from the people who either aren't collectors or don't know what they're talking about and insulting things like the "stupid high prices" and "you can find this cheaper". Is it because they don't really get the laws of economy and prices in general? I mean, what's the damn point on yelling about the prices and stuff you don't understand? To ventilate some bad feelings or low self-esteem? Ugh!

Many times the prices are high, because lots of people wants the same product at the same time (to complete their collections) and there might only be one copy of one particular game at sale once in a year, so the price is driven up no matter what the starting price is. If someone wants to argue about something, I think the more relevant question would be: "Is it rational to collect video games or is it rational to collect video games that WILL cost a lot for you?".

I also don't like such high prices because obviously they are not affordable of course! But would you be so stupid selling something for a low price when there are potential buyers willing to pay a lot cash for it?

As Akiguchi said it depends on how many units are available and also a matter of preferences and priorities from the collectors. And AFAIK we are lucky because in other platforms like NES prices are simply exorbitant.

Where some people see rubbish other see a treasure, easy to understand. Where some people see an old, unsafe, bad euipped and small Renault 5 car, other see a pure gem.
