How desirable is a complete copy of Herzog?

Monetary value is very subjective. What MSX titles would this compare to in terms of desirability?

Anybody out there have any opinions on this? I'm really just looking for some other opinions; anybody's opinions are just as valid for this. I'm quite positive that it's worth more than I paid for it, in fact it might be the best deal that I've ever gotten on an MSX game. But I don't have a clue what it would be worth to other people. It seems that there has not been a copy with the box sold since March of 2014.

Something like... I think it's more valuable than X but not as valuable as Y. It is a floppy disk game so that probably hurts its collectability vs. cartridge games, but there are a few pretty valuable disc games, like Shin Golvellius and Psycho World. I think this one is likely more rare than either of those, but of course there is more at play than rarity to determine how desirable something is.

I asked at first because I wanted to trade it toward Gulkave and wanted to know how much it should knock off the price. I don't think that's going to happen now, but I'm still curious. I don't think there's any way that I'm going to get rid of it unless I get something like Gulkave to replace it. I still wonder though.

Well, Herzog is pretty rare but imho not really sought after by the masses. It's not a Konami ofcourse. When it comes to desirability it scores less than Snatcher but scores higher than (for example) Hinotori but that's ofcourse only my opinion as an ex collector.

Well I don’t know about this particular game, I don’t recall seeing it or I would’ve snagged it up probably Smile. Some games go for exorbitant prices (e.g. Aleste 2, Mr. Ghost, etc.) and this might be one of those. But otherwise Japanese MSX2 disk games like Xak, Ys, Dragon Slayer 6, etc. would typically fetch around the €40 mark.

I bought one 2 years ago and it's one of those titles that you don't see that often. That makes it also more rare to find a complete and a mint one. Mine was as Robert said in the range of Snatcher and it was complete. I am happy with it, because it is nicer to see in a collectio besides Dixdaef and Feedback :-)
