Mark Smith was the editor of the Konami Software Club magazine. http://msx.hansotten.com/magazines/konami-newsletters/

so my copy of the konami editor is in Sao Paulo, I do not think it's one of Saku's copies. I bought it from a well-known European collector / seller. I'll post photos.

Seems to still have the same "extra paper" around it - similar to mine. The other complete set I had did miss this paper.

Doesn’t look like a standard Konami cartridge!

Nope, as you can see, there is also text "1985 CANON INC.". Maybe it's Canon cartridge originally and labeling made by Konami?

Neither the program cart, EC-701 looks like "normal Konami":

No, it clearly says (c) CANON. I think it means Canon was the developer and Konami the publisher, although I guess it could have been the other way around.

To add to the issue of the copyright, I searched the Kanji ROM (EC702) for any latin text that may help to clarify who developed it, but found none. No references to Konami or Canon or anybody else. I don't have the word processor ROM (EC701) to see if that contains any hints.
