Thanks to this thread I thought - lets have a look at the most expensive MSX Games. At what prices did you see MSX games get sold? If the bid on the Metal Gear 1 is real, I think it's probably the most expensive MSX game ever ;)

Me first!

I saw a Ganbare Goemon go for 250 guilders (110 eur)! :)

original shop-prices (which are 'normal') or 2nd hand-prices (which can be way over the top) ?

I remember arranging the purchase of Klaas de Wind's (Rest in peace, my friend) original SNATCHER for Hfl 450,- which was a record at that time. It's now a little over 200 euros, and as we all know you can't even whipe your ass with 200 euros, but back in that time (must have been 1994/1995) 450 guilders was considered quite some cash. Hell, you could buy an MSX2 computer with that amount of cash. Anyways, that's the most I've ever seen paid for an MSX game. I kinda doubt anyone's really gonna pay 600 euro's for any Metal Gear. That's just dumb. But just in case, I've got an original Guiana Sisters lying around, I'll selll it to you cheap, for say... 200 euros?

Final Fantasy for MSX will sell over 300 euros, if the owner realises how rare it is. I am still hoping to see one come by where the owner does NOT know how rare it is, since it's the only Final Fantasy game I do not have Crying

Yeah, I remeber Nemesis 3 being sold for Hfl 129,- when it came out... If I remeber correctly the MCM-guy blew a nut about this. Ofcourse any lame-ass game for the PS2 that costs about a quarter to make goes for the same price nowadays, but hey...

Heh, I once had an original Final Fantasy, but I sold it for (iirc) 125 guilders to a friend of mine. Who still has it, by the way. The same friend who sold Snatcher and SD Snatcher for 500 guilders each, about three years ago. Not that he'd asked for it, he didn't want to sell them, but then someone wanted to give so much money for those games he simply couldn't refuse Tongue

Oh man, don't get me started on todays crap-ass games! Shocked!

I bet the person who bought it feels pretty stupid now that Snatcher on ebay goes for 50-60 euros sometimes Wink

It's all so much easier now... I bought some 'expensive' imports mid/late 90's too... 150 or 120 guilders for a second hand game. Ah well... You win some, you loose some.
