I wonder who bought this latest interface. Bidding history shows it's a proxy shipper. For a moment I thought let's buy it, and then investigate it's internals, maybe to recreate it, or at least share the information with the community and then sell it to a collector. I really hate to think this one ends up in someones personal closet too. It's really interesting to study and perhaps to recreate and or emulate it, and learn from it for new development in a way that a larger audience can enjoy the remnants of this technology. Apart from the fact that I like real hardware better, I still think stuff like this should be supported in e.g. OpenMSX.

What do you guys think? Should we organise some shared buying sometimes? I'm thinking that when 10 or 20 msx-ers agree to join forces for a temporary (when reselling later) ownership when the next opportunity arises we gain a lot of insight in undocumented and rare msx technology.

BTW: I don't have vhd games, but I still have a VHDPC player at home with a bunch of VHD movies for those who want to investigate it. The player needs a checkup, somehow the loading mechanism doesn't work. The needle is present.
I also have a VHD wired remote controller. Bought it once with the idea that the control commands that the remote controller sends should match control commands that a MSX can send to the player since it's the same port on the vhd player that needs to be used.

I have one VHD-interface, new in box. I could trade it for a Konami mini games (2 preferred) I'm looking after at the moment :-)

All I know is that Sean Young is very interested to implement support for VHD in openMSX (see the VHD thread), but he does need to borrow the hardware for that... so any help is most welcome!

I prefer trading mine, because then a new owner can take the interface completely to parts, if needed. And there is neither any rush to return it. Also - trading feels better for me than trying to decide a "a good price" for VHD-stuff.

If interested, please send me E-mail and I'll send a complete list of items which could be offered in trade.

Sander: How about arranging some group-buying for couple of European Konami Mini's and having a trade for my VHD-interface? Maybe someone has already the needed Mini's ready for trade...

I also like sanders idea to do a poll for buying hardware. But there are many questions about. What will happen to the items, would it be better to keep them in one place, like a museum, would a "premium" membership provide some money...
What I really like is the idea of a general "I´m looking for... trading for" posting, I´m sure this would ease contact between users. But in the moment I am not looking for much more ways to spend money. I also prefer to trade MSX related stuff, I didn´t sell anything since ´99. Sure it´s fine to raise some money for old items, but most of the time I spend my money for other things and in the end money has gone and also the item.
Stt1, please start a post with the items you´re looking for and the things you want to trade?

What you propose is not a bad idea as long as that stuff were a worthwhile hardware even software. Better focussing on real and feasible future applications, the VHD devices are a good example.

Aaahhh... damn. I had now time to look on this and noted that I didn't have IF-7900 after all, the thingy says: HC-A602S
So, it's superimposer cartridge, not the VHD-interface.

My mistake. Sorry. oO

hamlet: I have already a post of items I'm looking for and also a list of items (a lot of items there, also not so common) I'm offering in trade in this Trading and collecting thread. I raised it up to top now... It might be a bit difficult to read, because I can't edit the original posts and I had to add new posts on it for updating the listing.
