2. It is 110v
3. No cartridge connector
4. Does it actually work?
5. The price

Correction then, point 3. The ER101 requires a cartridge connector to connect to a standard MSX. I wonder if this unit would work with an MSX2 or TurboR ?

Not much use without it?

It also contains the Laserdisk interface, if you can find the suitable hardware, imagine a TurboR running the laserdisk games?

THANKS FOR RESPONDING TO THIS!
I SUPPOSE EVEN IF ONE HAD THE PICTURED CABLE ,AND APEARENTLY MANY DIFFERENT MSX BOXES;ONE MIGHT ONLY
BE GAINING VIDEO OUTPUTS,MAYBE NTSC OR GENLOCK CAPACITIES. BUT THE CONTROLER OUT CIRCUIT LOOKS VERY SIMPLE. THE OUTPUT FROM THE TRANSFORMER IS USUALLY VERY EASILY MODIFIED TO FIT THE BOARDS NEEDS USUALLY
AN ASORTMENT OF NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE DC VOLTAGES 3.5 TO 12.5. OR A TRAVEL ADAPTER OF SOME KIND.
I SAW A LASER DISK PLAYER LIKE THIS IN A JUNK SHOP SIX YEARS BACK BUT COULD NOT THINK OF A USE FOR IT.

This device is not a laser discs player. It is also not an MSX device. It is a device that adds the capabilities of the Pioneer PX-7/PX-V60 to an ordinary MSX. So, you can play the MSX laserdisc games on your ordinary MSX with this unit, but you will still need the same hardware like a laser disc player to do so.

I GUESS NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED,AS IRONIC AS ME LEAVING MY '64 PONTIAC GTO 4-SPEED CONVERTABLE IN A
GARAGE WHEN I JOINED THE NAVY; I SAW ONE OF THE FOUR LISTED LASERDISK PLAYERS [A 8INCH+- SLIDE TRY CD-ROM
LOOKING AFAIR ] WHICH CAN BE EITHER AN : LD 700 , LD 7000, LD 500. OR LD(V)-1000 :AT A JUNK STORE IN FARMINGTON
NM. IT COULD STILL BE THERE.
MY {WE THE US oF} MODEL LIKE THIS, THAT WAS A COMmERCIAL FAILURE WAS A MEMOREX VIS. IT HAD A 286 CPU.
A SOMEWHAT FINICY WIRELESS REMOTE JOYSTICK. AT LEAST IT GOT TANDY TO BUILD THE RL AND RLX 286's.
THESE ITEMS [THE ER-101 AND THE PX-7 KEYBOARD] ARE MUSEUM RARE, FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAVE BEEN SPENDING
$ 500.00 PLUS A MONTH FOR SEVERAL YEARS, ON VINTAGE COMPUTING , BUT I WAS ONLY HOPING TO FIND IT THE RIGHT GUY.

Yes, NTSC and 110V unit. PAL computer with this wont do, I tried it once (no surprise though, but had to try it ;-). And yes, you need the cartridge which is connected to MSX-computer, and from cartridge to this unit there is a ribbon cable (iirc, the connection cable is rather simple). ER-101 contains genlocking etc. and also there is the Pioneer Basic add-on for controlling LD-player. I'm not sure how well it copes with all kind of other MSX-computers except MSX1 devices, some overlapping may occur due to different slot-layouts and memory areas (for example disk-basic).

Also, this unit needs similar LD-player as with PX-7/PX-V60.
