You should also consider GR8NET which is even more versatile than the Carnivore2.

How can I order it? When I got into their site, it says gr8bit. Nothing about gr8net.

I have all three, the MFR the GR8NET and the Carnivore2, and I keep the MFR, for ease of use and it is better integrated in the MSX-DOS, the soft utilities that it includes and the support that its owner gives is what It makes me decant. The GR8NET is a pass what can be done, it is all basic commands, for programmers it is very good, to see when they leave games that take advantage of the internet connection, the Carnivore2 that has the FM-PAC and the 1mb of ram is excellent , but the use I do not like and the support is very technical for me, it is my experience as an advanced user of msx, I believe that each cartridge is for a certain public, all three are incredible.

Excellent explanation,
So basically Gr8net & Carnivole2 is advanced for me, I should then think about MFR.... Smile

If using command line tools it too difficult, you can always use SofaRun with Carnivore2 or MFR. Works seamlessly.

Yeah, I'm already using Sofarun. But because of limitation of original 128K ram, I was unable to load Rom of the big games. Sad

I think since you’re already using CF cards, the Carnivore2 may be a good option for you. Compared to the MFR SD it also offers FMPAC, which I presume you don’t have already as a separate cartridge, which will enhance the sound in many games.

The benefit of the MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD for novice users is that it comes with a pre-configured ROM disk containing Multi Mente and the necessary utilities, but since you’ve already got a CF card environment set-up with SofaRun I don’t think that’ll be an issue for you. I think SofaRun should work with Carnivore2 out of the box if you have a recent version.

For me the MegaFlashROM SD is my cartridge of choice because my MacBook has a built-in SD slot and I already have the real FM cartridges separately, also I own the MFR SD for years now and am used to it. The Carnivore2 has a good value proposition as well for me although I don’t own it, but yeah I want to stick with SD cards for the above mentioned reason. I also have the GR8NET which I bought to use for potential future networking projects, currently I only use it for testing purposes.

Grauw, you can use SD cards with Carnivore2 too. You just need a CF-to-SD adapter. Works for me. Smile

Yeah I believe since I have the Maxiol Board, the Carnivore2 will be the way to go.
Quick question here...
will be am internal 512 ram, enough for something, i mean some rom loading or dsk images?
