Hi,

I'm selling a MSX Audio set from Toshiba (HX-MU901).
It contains :

- the FM synthetiser module (HX-MU900)
- the dedicated 49 keys keyboard (which connects to the module)

The set is in near new condition and includes the original invoice (item bought new in the Netherlands).
I only used it once, just to try it ...

I'm asking 100 euros for it (without shipping).

Hi Metal1on,

I'm definitely interested in this, but as I live in America. How much would a shipping estimate run for the zip code of 30005?

If it's too expensive, I may have to regrettably pass. : (

Thanks very much,

-Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The item is heavy : I'm guessing around 8 or 10 lbs, so the shipping to the USA would be around 65 euros.
The total would be 165 euros ($206.25).

I will double check its weight tonight.

Hi Metal1on,

As much as I would LOVE to have this, I think it's still a bit out of my budget for now. My new MSX hobby has opened my wallet several times in the last month and I've ordered too much that I need to pay off first.

If it doesn't sell by then, I'll think about it again, but for now I think I'll need to pass the opportunity on to someone else for now. Thanks for your estimate! 65 Euros for shipping for this amount of weight isn't that bad I think.

I checked the weigth and it is heavier than expected : 7,6 kilos (16,75 lbs).

So the shipping rate is going to be :

17 euros for France (where I am located)
44 euros for Europe
54 euros for Eastern Europe and Norway
100 euros for USA, Canada and middle East
133 euros for the rest of the world

Good Evening, Metalion.

I will buy it! :-)

Please send me email! :-)

But before paying, can you please tell me are all the manuals, or whatever stuff there originally were, included in the package?

-MäSäXi :-)

Hmmmm.... one important question came to my mind... is it possible to actually PLAY music on that keyboard, and not just enter the music into composing program, note by note? I always thought it is possible, but now when I think it, I really don´t know. Question

Can I play many notes at the same time? Question I hope it is not only-one-channel-can-play-at-same-time stuff like some old children´s synthesizer keyboards.

Is it possible to compose a song, which has different instrument for each channel? (of course not in live-play, but in it´s own composer program?)

Still going to let this one pass to MäSäXi, but I'm also curious to know what he has asked, and whether or not I can easily use this keyboard and module to create music for games in a tracking-type program on the MSX and be able to play back the music and hear how it sounds on the MSX. I've seen that the module can be upgraded to support 256k sample ram and MSX-Audio Basic v1.2. from the PlaySoniq site, but I'm not sure if this Toshiba module will be compatible with MSX-Audio supported games. I "think" it does from what I've read on the Ultimate MSX FAQ, but I wasn't sure if this could be a substitute for the the Phillips Music Module.

In general, I'm just interested in learning how to compose music for the MSX, preferably in FM/PSG, and other combinations with MSX-Audio, and be able to export the work as files that can be used in a game or program.

I have to apologise, Metalion. I cannot buy your keyboard set, since just a while ago I was offered the same for just half of the price (though without the box). I am sorry, I could not resist such offer.

So you are free to buy it, Thomas. :-)

Cool, yep, still interested, just not sure I can afford it currently this month and also with the shipping being at 100 Euros to the United States. We'll see though. Still wanted to find out some more information about it first before making a decision, to see if it can be a nice alternative to the Phillips MSX-Audio Module as well as offer a easy capability for creating music for games/software for the MSX.
