FS-A1ST cons: belt driven diskdrive.

Both, my ST and GT do have belt driven floppy drives. But thanks to the MFR I'mm belltless.

In my opinion the lack of tR exclusive software do not justify the significant surcharge. But I do have quite good arguments to have both if my girlfriend asks.

OK one very last question to clear confusion. So I decide which to buy.
Diffs between an ST and a modified 512kb msx2+ Panasonic wx?

To make things more complex: If I had to choose a machine of the few that belongs to my collection, I think I would choose the 8280. But that is a very hypothetical scenery and my only personal opinion.
Everybody has a favorite machine.
The 2+ and tR machines are cheaper build, the 8280 is as heavy as a rock.
If you want to take shelter from a nuclear detonation, choose the Philips.
And yes, a FlashROM cartridge, no matter which one you choose, will free you from the floppy belt pain.
But if you like loading times, you are very welcome!

Yeah that's very nice looking MSX indeed. But still you didn't answer my question.
What does an ST has more than an upgraded ram msx2+ WX.
That will be my final point before deciding which one to go for....

An R800, MIDI connectors, facts you hear from guys who have to justify their purchases to their girlfriends. Envy that one receives from colleagues and marvel from all the beginners in the scene.
And lots of MSX2 games you will play on.
This is what made the upgrade worth.
