I tried to measure voltage but accidentally had my multimeter set in the opposite direction (2kΩ instead of 500V) and now I killed the multimeter Crying. Oops!

On the multimeter’s I looked at (online) most appear to have fuses, so possibly it’s just a matter of replacing a fuse?

It does have fuses, but since the multimeter’s cheap I just bought a new one Smile. But I’ll try to swap the fuses to see if the other one’s still alive.

What comes to UT-130E, these values were measured when tested:

Input: 238,7V
Output: 108,5V (no load applied)

I got a new multimeter (that was quick delivery!). Measurements on my UT-130E are:

Input: 234V
Output: 105V

Output under no load or under load of a Sony HB-F1XD was the same.

Like @sdsnatcher73 said honestly I trust both these Japanese-made transformers to be built correctly according to proper standards. And it’s great that @sdsnatcher73 is importing them, there seems to be quite a demand!

Very good results for both step down converters! My original source (Amazon JP) has unfortunately raised the price by 50% (their price strategy is often quite weird). I have found another source which was a little bit more expensive and I had to go through a proxy company. Also they only had 3 available. At the moment I am not sure about what the final price will be although I think it will be close to the €45.

Additionally I have acquired 4 used UT-110W (these work on US and EU input voltages) and 1 used UT-130E. From the images in good condition and I will test them before selling on (probably with my new multimeterWink. Hopefully the price on Amazon JP will go down again some time soon… but in the meantime I will keep looking for alternative solutions.

I measured my UT-130E and also one DN-203 (the one for my friend Pencioner):

UT130E
102.6V Unloaded
101.9V FS-A1ST
100.6V FS-A1ST+FS-5000F2

DN-203
96.8V Unloaded
96.0V FS-A1ST
94.9V FS-A1ST+FS-5000F2

I had the FS-5000F2 connected to the converter and the FS-A1ST connected to the unswitched outlet on the FS-5000F2.

The FS-A1ST is rated at 21W and the FS-5000F2 at 34W.

So both well within tolerance of the systems.

Nice! Did you measure your mains voltage?

I tried but I could not get a reading, the prongs don’t go in deep enough I guess… to measure the output I left the power connector of the FS5000F2 slightly out (but still stable) so I could connect to the pins on the connector…
