Looking prices around eBay and Marktplaats I was thinking €125. There is an NMS-8245 on Marktplaats for €169 (with replaced drive belt though).

What advantage do you expect from upgrading to a 2+ model?
In combination with your MFRSD512 the 8245 is a neat and solid build MSX2 that will run most software, comes with an excellent video output, a european keyboard layout and 230V psu. I´m just curious why you want to upgrade.
Altought I would keep the hardware in original state, there are possibilities to upgrade an 8245 with a V9958.

And there is the 64k 2+ bios by NYYRIKKI
I do like the 8245 as well, no sound bugs, no memory mapper bugs, not so many screws to unscrew :)

Yeah I’ve decided to just get the drive fixed. The VDP upgrade seems no longer possible (parts no longer available). I’ll keep the machine and maybe get a 2+ on the side. The most 2+ machines have msx-music and many disk games use it, that was my consideration (and space manbow of courseWink)

You need a black tape to make a MSX2+ Space Manbow version out of a MSX2. Nothing spectacular.
And now that your infected by the MSX virus, it is better to keep the Philips. Besides that, the 8240 is getting rare since Philip bought all avaible ones..

There are plenty of v9958's available on eBay or AliExpress...
Msx-music can be bought from 8bitsforever.
There is also the f4/fmpac board from RBSC but I don't know if there is any stock at the moment.
