@Kwik
At present, C-DISK is only experimental. It only sector based BDOS calls and no diskbasic environment. Not very usefull for Nowind USB I think. May be in time it could be a option...
@cax
Sunrise has a standard dos2 diskrom, so I suppose they have a license for it ??

We had an idea once to implement the more complex BDOS calls in the host software of the PC. (using the Nowind interface). Console in/output should be done on the msx offcourse, but file access (open, search first/next, delete, create, rename, etc. could be handeld by the PC just as well. It's much easier to implement those calls in C/C++ than in Z80 assembly (with little room).

Diskbasic would be more difficult, but with basic msxdos would work...

@kwik: the source codes of the dos kernel of the VY0010 is in CVS on msxsyssrc (Later on I will update the downloadable zip file as well):

msxsyssrc.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/msxsyssrc/disk100/disk100.mac

That is very interesting. I wonder, does the VY0010 diskrom search for a clockchip? I'm not sure if the VY-series is pre-msx2. If it is, then it probably doesn't know anything about the existance of chockchips...

Can you place the source on msxsyssrc?

zeilemaker54: I haven't worked on any part of C-BIOS in a long time, but I intend to resume its development some time soonish and then I'll integrate your patches.

manuel: Zeilemaker's patches for C-DISK were written from scratch. So although they do not cover all the functionality of the original MSX Disk ROM, they are legal, which is essential for C-BIOS.
