Well, I seem the miss the machine firmware files
I use the catapult for openmsx (win) and when trying to launch, it stated:
"using specified machine: panasonic_fs-a1st
Fatal error
Error reading ROM: roms/fs-a1st_firmware.r"
right.
I've rearanged some folders to get the roms kinda working..
it still puzzels me. When I extract OPENMSX should there are no roms in the share dir.
I've got a dir. with some roms'n stuff and copied the turbo r as1st to the right dir. and atleast it boots now. but it's kinda sloow and shocky. (takes up 90% of cpu time!!)
the msxdos roms etc I have to figure that out. Well too much husstle for today...
pff.
I'm downloading some misc roms (audio, dos 2 etc) see if it works. (had to rename a bunch of roms... sight)
still I have to RTFM to resolve the speed problems
oh, well. takes a few minutes but I'm getting there....
ok. I've got the turbo-r, audio, moonsound, DOS22 stuff installed and it's being recognized. But when I boot, the machine won't start my DOS (I've created a HD folder and copied the msxdos/sys/command files in the root)
now, what?!?!
What are you trying to do?
The Dir As Disk feature has nothing to do with the harddisk emulation feature.
Use the "IDE" extension to emulate harddisk.
Would all be so much easier if you join #openMSX on irc.freenode.net.... Real time help!
ok. but uhrm, where do I find the ide extention rom? couldn't find it anywhere...
AFAIK you can get it from the Sunrise site.
Well, ok. Downloaded the file renamed it to ide210.rom and shifted it in to the right folder.
Now openmsx boots with the IDE opening screen. But any inserted disk will fail
(ide opening message states "no slave found") Adding a dir/disk image to be used as disk failes too.
It got me confused somehow.
tell me manual, what extensions/disk/files do I exactly need to get openmsx to boot from "harddisk image"
I've studied the manual, but didn't get any info on that. Or should I not use the catapult for this matter??
thanx and goodnight for now.
ro, you should do exactly the same as on a real MSX with a blank harddisk and an IDE interface connected. So, you should read the manual of the IDE interface
Got it working now?
Ehr.. Ok something else.. But it is related.
I do want to simulate the harddisk, but am not familiar with the ide harddisk of sunrise. I do have the novaxis rom but i can't remember on what page the novaxis is at (thought it was page 2-1, but that's where the dos rom is placed at the moment.)
Might someone have the xml file for the novaxis rom.. please.. whould appriciated it (just dump it here, I'll copy and past it ).
I'm also interested in the Bert Scsi rom. But I couldn't find it, and I don't know how to burn my own (original) bert rom on a floppy (in other words: I'm lazy )
tia..
