... So I suggest you'd better not use that function, since it works 'sort of'. Big smile

Did you ever bother to read the manual? Smile

Did YOU not read my post? Tongue

Yeah, I read that but could not get it working. Is the catapult equiped with the option to point any directory as a .dsk?
The manual talks about it but doesn't show any examples etc (yeah, I'm a dim user.. I know) but I'd like to see s'm examples and go on with the show as quick as possible.

thanx manuel! your patience with me is being rewarded some day... just don't forget to bring the vaseline! (evil grin)

hehehe... AFAIK you can also enter a dir in the disk A text field in Catapult. But you can't select a dir with the file selector. Not sure how this exactly goes in Windows regarding pathnames tho. Just try it from the commandline first and then in Catapult.

openmsx -diska .
(Use current dir as disk...)

ok. to sum it all up:

- Get the latest openMSX here sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=38274&package_id=30511&release_id=241782
- Get the latest IDE ROM from Sunrise here: www.msx.ch/sunformsx/download/dl-ide.html (ide221.lzh)
- Extract the files into the dir ..openMSX\share\extensions\ide\roms and for convenience rename the ide221.dat to IDE210.ROM
- Start openMSX with .DSK file containing dos2.x (and have DOS2 inserted as an extension)
- Use IDEFDISK or FDISK310.COM to create a partition (which will be default 100mb)
- Restart the system, and copy msxdos2 on the A-drive (which is now your Harddisk)
(or review d-tail's comment here www.msx.org/forumtopic3015p15.html)

* to copy dos files remember that your floppydisk is now assigned to another drive!. In basic you can do: copy"e:*.*"to"a:" (assuming you created 4 partitions, now your flop is the E: drive!)

* Your HD.DSK (which is the emulated HD file) is now stored at ..openMSX\share\extensions\ide

I got it working atlast, thanx to darq, manuel and others.

one thing though, I could not get the DIRECTORIES working in openmsx. Am I using a wrong msxdos version? I don't think so. (v2 supports DIRs)

Ro, some comments:
- The partition is not default 100MB, the whole emulated harddisk is by default 100MB (you can enlarge it by editing share/extensions/ide/hardwareconfig.xml; the hd.dsk file will be automatically enlarged next time you use the extension). You can make several partitions on this virtual harddisk with IDEFDISK (or similar).
- On the harddisk, directories should work fine. When using the DirAsDisk feature, directories won't work at all, as I already said in my last post
- Muzax 3 runs fine in openMSX, at least the last time I tried. I will double check this for you later.

Not using DirAsDisk. But fixed it allready.

mzx3: I'm testing on TurboR with IDE and Audio extention and DOS2.20 (pretty standard?)

Okay, it runs on NON IDE machines.... hmm

edit: Yup, the IDE is what's causing the tilt of mzx3. that sux kinda!
