OpenMSX now compiled on MacOSX

I can inform you that with help from the openMSX developers i have finally succeeded in compilng and running openMSX on MacOSX.
Using the CVS version, which I downloaded november 22nd, it is running quite nicely on a PowerPC G4 at 867 MHz.I can inform you that with help from the openMSX developers i have finally succeeded in compilng and running openMSX on MacOSX.
Using the CVS version, which I downloaded november 22nd, it is running quite nicely on a PowerPC G4 at 867 MHz. A faster Mac wil always be better ofcourse, and I regret to say that my iBook G3-500 is really too slow for it...

Unfortunately, it still needs some tweaks to compile, so it's not as easy as compiling on GNU/Linux yet...

Getting something ported in such a way it works is the first big step. Once you got that running you can work on optimizing compilation and things. You succeeded in the first step... Well done, Jalu.

Update:

openMSX is now running with support for the openGL renderer but... this renderer works very slow(like 2 to 4 fps) on al Mac's i've tried it on, including my GeForce-4 equipped PowerBook G4.

My experiment with the iBook will not happen anymore, the machine died an untimely death... Sad
I am curious to find out whether I am doing something wrong, like using the wrong GL libs or so, or that there is some issue with Apple´s GL drivers on the nvidia cards(which I seriously doubt though, Quake III runs like a dream on both my nvidia GeForce equipped Macs) or... who knows.

afaik the sources of the latest openMSX compile on MacOSX without any adjustments now. I don't know if the openGL speed has improved, though.

snout, that is correct. If the correct libraries are installed (with Fink), it should indeed compile out of the box. I also don't know about OpenGL speed.
