blueMSX is much more than windows. For linux I think the suse rpm is afaik the only pre-built package, but you can always download the source from and compile it yourself.

I just checked: that suse rpm contains a pre-build version of blueMSXlite. If you manually extract and install the files it will probably work as well on non-suse systems (I tried on ubuntu and there it works fine).

Though this is blueMSXlite, not the windows version you're used to. The UI is rather primitive (AFAIK it's command line only ... e.g. I couldn't find a way to switch disks in a running MSX machine). On my system there was also a very annoying delay between video and audio (much more than with fMSX or openMSX).

I'm sure the blueMSX team would appreciate any help with improving the linux port of blueMSX(lite).

Absolutely, the bluemsxlite version is not as good as openmsx or fmsx, but it is a good starting point for someone that wants to make a good linux port.

I downloaded bluemsx for suse but it's in .rpm format so i ask if it's possible to
convert it in .deb package ?
What do you think about it?
Do you think than if i convert the format package the application may be corrupt ?

Old thread, but...

1. wget
2. sudo apt-get install alien
3. sudo alien -k blueMSX-2.8-3.21.x86_64.rpm
4. sudo dpkg -i blueMSX-2.8-3.21.x86_64.deb
5. bluemsx -diskA "garusu-paniku.dsk"
