I'd use some ASM to select the right subslots but hell with it.

I have those files too already, but I want to make them myself. That's the educational part. I've learned a lot already making the KSS files myself. Especially concerning the memory map used.

Yes, we know, but most of the coders back in the past didn't. (or didn't care) What is worst people added these POKE -1,170 type of pokes to their loaders, so that there is was no way, that you could use them on other MSX computers without modification.

We used to exchange games with someone who had a sony msx in the old days (and we had the 8250).... stupid poke-1,255; we always had to change that Tongue
