This was a problem in most of the 'revival' threads I posted in too. For some reason people don't realise that since 2000 or so, there's been a revival in the dutch MSX scene.

Some countries claim that the MSX activity is still the same, like in Brasil, and even thought that might be the case (I can't judge that) it's still a fact that that their activity is enjoyed globally now, in stead of domestic only. So that too can be called a revival (or a revolution Tongue).

Even in Japan, the renewed commercial interest in MSX was preceded by a revival among the MSX users.

The MSX Revival is a global thing! The MSX Revival is US, WE did it.

MSX Association is riding on the waves of OUR revival, and we should be proud that we have made it possible that MSX is commercially attractive again, and attracting new MSX users through education and emulation.

And THAT is the BIG difference between the MSX Revival and the so-called C64 revival.

"problem" though is that the "Commodore Revival" is getting a lot more attention in the media though. I saw the MSX in the Media thread, but how about getting it really big into the media?
It's a shame, since the MSX-revival seems to be a lot more focused on the machine, while the Commodore revival is just a way to earn money with the brand name.

Maybe OmegaMSX should use his connections in Hilverdorp to get MSX in the media in a big way Smile

TFH: Do you have any idea how much attention the MSX revival got in the Japanese media? How many bookstores were selling the MSX Magazines at the most important hotspots of their shops? I've been there during the release of the second MSX Magazine and was very impressed with what I saw. I think that if similar things will happen in Europe, MSX will get more media coverage in Europe as well.

I am of course talking about European/Western media. Everyhthing that is happening in Japan is all fine and stuff, but pretty much useless to most people here on this side of the world.

I don't f*cking care where the MSX revival takes place. Japan, USA, Brasil, Europe or Antarctica for god's sake, as long there is an MSX revival SOMEWHERE, it is something to get VERY excited about. We are a global community!

Well Commodore is a strange company they sold 17.000.000 commodore 64's back in the years they where released they costed about €450 thats 450 * 17.000.000 = €7.650.000.000 how the hell you can lose such amount of money thats weird.

so i think that the amount of c64's sold is a little bit overated Smile

And about the WAR Between Commodore & MSX:
It has never ended, it never sleeps until all old MSX & Commodore users are death (if the MHC/CHM* gens are not have been given thru to the children)

* MSX Hate Commodore GEN:

This gen causes a alergic reaction when confronted with a Commodore its normal like every one should be.....

But becarefull!!!!!!!!!!! some time's MSX'rs like to smash c64's in to pieces Smile
MSX has better looks than the c64.
MSX has better graphics
MSX has better sound (SCC,MSX MUSIC,MSX AUDIO,PSG so fuck you SID Smile )

* Commodore Hate MSX GEN:

This Gen is very weird it works like LSD it makes you Loonatic and lets you think
horrible things like :

That Metalgear on C64 is the best Sad
That MSX is not cool Sad
My c64 sounds better than a moonsound Sad
My c64 looks so nice Sad (even my granny looks better than a C64)
