Those spoilt newsposters nowadays. They can simply check their own forum and post it on the frontpage, tssssssss. In my days snout had to crawl all those sites himself and surprise the MRC visitors with a frontpage newsposting about it TongueTongue

We prefer news-reactions in the news (the frontpage) rather than in a forum. Otherwise you potentially get reactions at both places, which is rather messy. I actually remember ppl replying 2x during the announcement of the mp3 player, once on the frontpage, once in the forum, which looked totally ridiculous.. Tongue I mean, food belongs in the fridge rather than in a CD-wallet, right? ^_^ The right things at the right place.. Tongue

So? why not make the system then in a way that newsposts automatically create a topic in the forum? And that the 'news-
responses are in fact just forum replies..

Not all newsposts automatically create reactions (small news items which occur at regular intervals or which aren't interesting otherwise), why waste forumspace (empty threads) with such newsposts? Why not simply keep news and its reactions on the frontpage -which was made for news in the first place!- ?

wolf_: somehow talking about things in a forum flows more natural than in reactions on a frontpage newsposting. Please keep that aspect in mind. It IS true......

They're the same, if you'd write this same stuff on the frontpage we'd have the discussion there instead of here. If a forum flows better, how come there are a few mega-reactions? Ppl would've resorted to the forum instead. Anyway, bottomline is that news should primarily go to the frontpage.

Of course news primarely should go there. But I also believe it's part of a forum anyway that news can pop up there as well. It's not wrong.

Let's take TV: It's like saying that news shouldn't be sent to the news but to the scriptwriters of The Bold and the Beautiful instead, and later on the news will report news that has been presented in TBATB.. Tongue And yes, the forum and the frontpage are rather different Tongue
