I see... everybody loves the ending theme of Hinotori, but nobody makes midi file for it (at least I can't find it in internet - only the music from the 1st stage)

Side note: the best and most precize Hinotori 1st stage midi can be found here:
ogut.hp.infoseek.co.jp/hinotori.mid

So, here I am with MSX Ringtones.

I wrote an article in 2002 with detailed description of procedure to obtain a tone from a midi file, but article is only in Italian...
Btw, you can find few infos at:

http://xoomer.virgilio.it/enribarb/

under MSX/Misc section.

Enjoy and please help me to do experiments with those tones.

Hi Cax,
sorry but I'm not an expert of mobile phones...
This is what I found about the tools I use (check if there are more recent versions... but these ones works perfectly and are easy to use):

- Midi To Tone (2.1): you could save tones for Nokia6110 and Nokring utility (so, I always save my files in Nokring format);

- Nokring (v.1.5.5): you can load the tones made by MidiToTone and manage it. After that, you could save the tone for these mobile phones:

Nokia 6110, 6150, 8110i, 8810, 9000i, 9110 and compatible phones.

But there's more:

"Uploading ringing tones to phone requires Nokring and a GSM 07.05 PDU compatible
software or hardware installed in your PC, for example one of the following:
Nokia Data Suite 1.0 (software) + Nokia 3110, 8110, 8110i and compatible phone
Nokid Data Suite 1.2 (software) + Nokia 5110, 6110, 6150 and compatible phone
Nokia Data Suite 2.0 (software) + Nokia 5110, 6110, 6150 and compatible phone
Nokia Data Card (hardware) + Nokia 2110, 2110i and compatible phone
Nokia Card Phone (hardware)"

I hope these infos could be useful to you!

Regards.

P.S.: Just made this:

BubbleBobble:d=4,o=4,b=250:32b5,b6,32a#5,a#6,32g#5,g#.6,32f#5,8f#6,32a#5,a#6,32g#5,g#6,32f#5,f#6,32e5,e6,32g#5,g#6,32f#5,f#6,32e5,8e6,32d#5,d#.6,32f#5,2f#.6,32d#5,8d#6,32c#5,8c#6,32b,b5,32c#5,c#6,32d#5,d#6,32e5,e6,32c#5,c#6,32d#5,8d#6,32e5,e.6,32f#5,f#6,32f#5,f#6,32g#5,g#6,32a#5,8a#6,32g#5,g#.6,32f#5,f#6,32f#5

It can listen to it with Nokring.

enribar:
Well, I did some testing with Nokring 1.2, and it seems that except Galaga, Zanac 1, Pacman and Nemesis (which are OK) all other melodies require some better timing - I mean, they should comply with the musical measure (score).

As for melodies themselves - the notes are correct most of the time.

Of course, all the said above only depicts my musical memory, the way my ears hear and my own sence of rhythm :-)

Hi cax,

you're right, those tones were experiments... For ex, try 50 beat/min for Goonies, it's better! But remember that this song will be played by a phone, so if they are more 'quick' it's not so bad...

About melodies, I'm not guilty... Smile I've used midis made by other people... It's a very quick procedure to obtain a tone from midi, so after that you can modify with Nokring.

I'm happy that you are interested in! Let me know if you create new tones!
