Yay! I finally released a new SD-Snatcher SAV track at http://www.junkerhq.net/SMA ! I was working on this song like 6 months ago but it took me ages to finish it. Now it's finally done and available for download people! Always interested in hearing your opinions of course!

The main melodic line which gives the theme is too much behind the rest. Maybe you should raise the volume and/or change the instruments so we can hear it clearly ?

Otherwise it's ok

IMHO of course Wink

Qraptime want to play it from that website.. which it does ofcourse .. But I can't right-click that file and save it.. I have to click it.. Sad

Generally nice!

few-typically-wolf-nittpickremarks-so-they-can-be-ignored:

- snaredrum is a bit annoying.. doesn't sound good enough to be perceived as 'realistic'. Now, I'm not agains synthetic sounds, but in that category the snare doesn't score points either. Just work your ass off on a sound that's 'acts' human and dynamic.. and get rid of those preset-sounds. Sounddesigners working @ Roland (and others as well) can't design sounds properly.. Smile

- the acoustics around that lead (that 80's synth-brass sound with the pitch-attack) is a bit too dense .. try a little less reverb .. if you want spacyness, rather use echos with some feedback instead.

lol....I used half of the reverb I would have used a few months ago Big smile but yes I do agree I need to cut back on using too much reverb. I thought I did, guess not enough eh?

Do you do enough A/B'ing with other tunes in the same style? ..that's the best advice I can give here..

Presets from synths need all the reverb there is in order to sounds like something decent.. that's why those synths are bathing in megatons of reverb, just to impress the crowd in the shop.

I'm not against reverb however, when it gets to something creative I'll gladly use it. And typical orchestral stuff needs reverb anyway since they're 'playing in a hall' .. but I hesistate to use reverb purely to 'repair' poorly-designed instruments.

Well I usually used reverb just to "fill up" the mix, that was before I got better at instrument placing and filling up the mix with music, instead of effects. I try to minimize use of reverb now, unless - like you say - I am working on orchestral music.

Oh and...

Qraptime want to play it from that website.. which it does ofcourse .. But I can't right-click that file and save it.. I have to click it.. Sad

Control Panel -> Quicktime -> MIME settings -> Disable MPEG Layer III playback.
