Eläkeläiset - I saw them perform at Noorderzon once. They are wicked! :) Hoped to see equally 'bad taste' Mambo Kurt there this year, but alas... the man got a fever at the wrong day ;)

Well, I listen to every kinds of metal music, but also much progressive rock, pop, jazz etc. Generally my taste is very wide and has no limits.

Metal / heavy favourites: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Wasp, Anathema, Therion, Tiamat, My Dying Bride, Judas Priest, Burzum, Morbid Angel, Manowar, King Diamond, Bathory, Venom, Rotting Christ, Varathron, Master's Hammer, Darkthrone, Ved Buens Ende, Gehenna, Running Wild, Septic Flesh, Decoryah, On Thorns I Lay, Sigh, Unleashed, Nocturnus, Benediction etc. etc.

Progressive rock / Classic Rock: Genesis, Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Renaissance, Cat Stevens, David Bowie, Pogues, Supertramp, Gentle Giant, Amon Duul, Popol Vuh, Peter Gabriel, Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder etc. etc.

Darkwave / synth: Tangerine Dream, Dead Can Dance, Ashra etc. etc.

Pop: Depeche Mode, Madonna, Army of Lovers, Cardigans, Kent, Sophie Zelmani, Joanna Newsom, Joni Mitchell, etc. etc.

Japan: P-Model, Susumu Hirasawa, Zabadak, Maaya Sakamoto, Akino Arai, Shonen Knife etc. etc.

Currently I have about 1000 record pieces in my collection: half of them are vinyl lp and half of them are cd's. I'm pretty much a music enthusiaist and like to also listen with good hifi equipment. Working with good vinyl turntable is like working with MSX. Smile

Have you dutch people heard of a band called "Angus"? I stumbled upon their vinyl on fleamarket few weeks ago and I must say I was pretty impressed with their heavy metal, as corny as it sounds sometimes. Finally I had the chance to see how the people from Netherlands look like, particularly that vocalist on the lower left corner looks very cute. LOL!

In Brazil we ALL listen to music from Rio de Janeiro. Only high quality pieces are produced there and lyrics are tied to local culture. After the installation of UPPs at the so-called favelas it's even safe to go to some live performances of those groups.

This is a romantic one:
