Do anybody know what is the content of this tape? Is it conserved?
I have it. It's a very crude feature walkthrough of the CX5M. Kind of fun but also requires YRM-104 Macro in the other slot to run it. I'd have to load it again to remember what's in it but I don't think it's "interactive".
Would be great to have a recording of that tape....
If I can find a decent way to capture it I'll post it to YT one day. Happy to do it!
It's a cartridge though, not a tape, and I believe the ROM is already online.
Ah, the "CX5M Demo Program" LDR-02 cartridge indeed. But I couldn't find it anywhere.
Oh sorry - don't take my word for it. I thought it might have been already ripped but perhaps not. I only have an original. Still happy to share the video. I hesitate to break it open to rip the ROM. I'm not equipped to do that in an elegant way.
If you have a MSX with two slots and a flash ROM + disk, you are equipped to do that in an elegant way. I can explain how to do it if you want.
I have the LDR-02 cartridge too, I just dumped it (also sent to tfh and omega).
@gdx Yes please! I see that @Grauw dumped it (thank you!) so I won't need to but I'd still love to know how that works. I will try it anyway just to learn.
I have a
- CX5M (MSX1)
- CA-01 Adapter for second slot
- 512 Megamapper / Megarom with two SD slots.
- 4GB in each SD slot
Cool thanks Grauw!
I don't know if this is going to be possible with your setup because your MSX doesn't have disk but I'll see if it's possible.
The method is to put a ROM copy tool into a MegaFlashRom, then turn off the MSX, insert it into slot 1 and the ROM to be copied into slot 2. Then just turn on the MSX, the copy tool will ensure the ROM in slot 2 to be ignored at startup. So you can copy the ROM.
I know there are at least two ROM tools to do this. I must find them.
