Technotris

As some may have learned by now, lengthy music from MSX games is usually a trigger for Wolf to start a rearranging project. Naturally, due to their large scale nature, predictable suspects include big adventure games, but who would think of ye olde Tetris? In this addictive game classic, one song in particular stands out: Technotris. Several people on the net have made their own version already, and Wolf is the latest one to join the parade. The 50 second original has now grown into archetypical 80's cheese, with a little help of the Tetris title theme halfway, making up for more than five minutes of Tetris bliss.

Wolf's next release (a big whopper) is still in the mixing process, but the release will probably make Christmas. If you have made freeware material you'd like to see in our ever growing freeware downloads database, submit it to downloads@msx.org, and perhaps it will grace the top-10 of our monthly downloads statistics!

technotris was even remixed by BPS themselves in a sequel on the SNES.

Half the sounds are FM8.

The first loop o' 50 secs is all FM8 except the drums.

It's soooo nostalgic to hear this tune again!! It reminds me of Aleste 2 - because I got Tetris and Aleste 2 at the same time. I remember getting out of bed and that my father was playing Tetris (because he got addicted to it) and Aleste 2 afterwards... Those were the times - new MSX games leading to so much excitement that you couldn't even sleep of it...

Ow, I totally forgot: your version is very nice as well, wolf_, although I have to admit that I don't have anything special with this song except for the fact that it's so nostalgic... I'm much more looking forward to your other project Wink.

And don't forget Mirrorsoft's Tetris. The only Tetris for MSX available in Europe if I am not mistaken.

I'm trying to decide what hurts my ears more, the cassette sounds or the in-game music. Tongue
