Hello,

Mayby this subject is discussed before, then I would like to receive the correct link Smile
For a couple of weeks I own a ST Turbo-R, but I want to switch to the european font set. I've noticed that something is possible with te pattern command and also downloaded the lzh file (includes the chr files) from AP.Wulms / MCCM. But can anyone tell me exactly how to copy this stuff into my sram? (so i can use a backslash for example Wink )
I've also read about a fully automated utility from MAD, but dont know how to get it and/or its freeware.
Thanx in advance.

RJ.

And for a Panasonic FS-WX? Any ideas? I'd like to get rid of my huge 220>125 V transformer.

pitpan - i bought a fairly small 220>110v transformer from a local electrical retailer here in Leicester - i have no problems with the UK's only Turbo GT.

I am sure that someone in Coventry sells something you'll find usefull Smile

When I was in Japan, Bernard Lamers showed me a nice tool that -amongst others- changed the tR font to a European font. Afaik it was coded by Alex Wulms. Alex? Bernard?

And for a Panasonic FS-WX? Any ideas? I'd like to get rid of my huge 220>125 V transformer.Just replace the primary transformer with a 220V transformer with a similar voltage/rating. Assuming it's similar to the Turbo-R that is. With my old ST I just pulled out the transformer and fit in a new one that wasn't even all that close to the original volage... worked like a charm tho Tongue

Using custom font on MSX computers is very easy... you just need to tell where the font is located by updating following parameters:

#F91F (B) Font SlotID
#F920 (W) Font address

... new font will be activated after next SCREEN command.

What kind of sram you have?

The program was coded by Bernard. I wrote about it in an MSX turbo R article for MCCM.

RJ.

How to copy it to the SRAM drive and load it from there:

1) Boot the MSX turbo R with the firmware switch to the left position so that it boots into MSX-View
2) One of the pull-down menu's contains an entry (in Japanese) which is followed by a Q between brackets. Select this one to (Q)uit MSX-View
3) Now you are in MSX-DOS
4) Determine the drive number of your SRAM drive. If you don't have any external (hard)-drives attached, it is drive D:
5) Make an autoexec.bat file on this SRAM drive. This will make sure that MSX-View will no longer be started when you boot your MSX with the firmware enabled
6) Copy the pattern.com utility and the font on your SRAM drive.
7) Adapt your autoexec.bat to run pattern.com and do any other tasks you wish to be performed during boot time

Hope this helps you further.

Kind regards,
Alex
