At the wiki I just get a blank page. Within my user profile an error message appears (see previous reaction) stating there's an invalid character in my username.

This is probably due to your old account you had, 2 years ago when we started on the site Smile I removed the old account, can you try again? If it still gives you a blank page, let me know.

Saving user profile works. Wiki still gives a blank page (I even CTRL-F5'd).

My 5 cents in case you have not been thinking too much about front page:

Now in the frontpage under Spotlight and Photoshoots there are 6 boxes in following order:

News headlines - Wiki updates
Latest forum posts - Trading & Collecting
Latest reactions - Today's history

I don't feel this is the most intuitive order... mainly because News headlines and latest reactions are separated from each other...

Could it be changed to for example:
News headlines - Latest forum posts
Latest reactions - Wiki updates
Trading & Collecting - Today's history

That would move less used Trading & Collecting and Today's history to end of page. I would not mind if there would be also something like "latest MSX downloads" and "latest MSX related downloads". That would show quickly what is hot right now.

Oh, and it would be great if under "Latest forum posts" there would not be link "More forum topics", but rather "More latest forum posts"

Some times you get away for a while and you would like to see what people have been talking about while you have been gone... Now you need to browse trough all categorys and that is not most userfriendly. On some busy days some topics may also drop off from such a short list in less than a day! It has happened to me also many times that I remember that not that long ago we had a discussion about some issue X, but you don't remember what was the original topic or have any idea in what category it was originally posted. If you could browse trough latest forum post in time order, it would be much faster than once again going trough multiple categorys.

About the new site.
Congratulations team. It's really TROLLING proof. The design is SO crowded everywhere that neither me, Muffie or Lionelritchie feel like trolling again. Actually I feel trolled everytime I type www.msx.org as I used to do a lot in the past.

It's amazing how experienced guys, some with design, can create something SO WRONG. It's not clean, it's not easy to find the information, the visual focus is "god-knows-where" (for sure not on the information itself) and... (ufhh.) enough.

As we're all about "retro" guys here and we're always willing companies to release vintage software source code (MSX Basic for example), can you guys give me a good reason NOT TO release the old site engine as an open source gift to our community?

A reason? The old site had several issues with trolls..

@hbarcellos: I don't think complaining has any use when you don't tell what they should've done differently. All change is hard and I guess for some it's a little harder to get used to than others.

@hbarcellos: if you use Firefox with NoScript + AdBlockPlus + Element Hiding Helper to remove/hide all useless elements such as advertisements, Ebay suggestions, etc ..., it's already better :

Now, by comparison with majority of professionnal and amateur websites, it's strange to find only links on the front page.
Recent news should appear, eventually in summary form, on the front page. That's what I do on MSX blue (complete news), that's what Konamito does on his blog (summary form). But indeed it requires to focus on the news, not on the advertisements ! ;)

Advertisements? I see none. Probably because I turned them off in the menu.
