On March 1st, 2012, the company that brought us Beecards and games like Bomberman (Eric and the Floaters), Star Soldier and Baseball Craze wil be dissolved. Konami Digital Entertainment, who had acquired the company a long time ago, have decided the time has come to cut overhead and merge the company completely with Konami.
Hudson soft - named after the Hudson locomotives - was founded in 1973 by brothers Yuji and Hiroshi Kudo in Sapporo, Japan. They started as dealers of ham radio equipment. In the late 1970s, like many Japanese companies, they started releasing games for home computers and game consoles. Initially, their games were released under the label Honeybee Soft Company. Hudson was also involved in the development of the NEC PC-Engine/Turbografx-16. Their greatest legacy, however, will undoubtedly be the Bomberman franchise.
