The Wii Nunchuck for MSX is back in an autonomous version. Now it is not necessary to patch the game since this new adapter has a tiny micro-controller to communicate with the nunchuck in order to turn the analogue and accelerometer information into directional movement.

What happened to this project? Was it easier to take an 8Bitdo?

Well I think it does not triggered too much interest at the time.
It is possible though to use the AT26Chuck on the MSX with a pigtail adapter. One of these days I may create a variation specific to MSX.
Alternatively, with the aid of Arduino you can play play North Sea Helicopter single handed with a Nunchuck.
Yet with an Arduino It is also possible to use a Nintendo 64 controller (and even get some analogs through pdl(x) function).
All the projects are open source, by the way.

Some 8Bitdo's game controllers and adapters allow to play games with the analog stick. Some games are pleasant to play with that. 8Bitdo did a good job. Nunchuck is supported with the SNES wireless adapter if I remember correctly, I used mainly PS2 and SNES controllers.
But of course PDL(x) instruction is not supported.
