Tenliner Challenge - #2 Runner 2000

Sujet: Challenges
Étiquettes: Tenliner challenge
Langues:

A few days after the first entry we already received a second one by MRC user viejo_archivero. If the quality stays this high, the jury will have a hard time deciding the winner.

In Runner 2000 you're a running man on a dangerous planet scattered with mines. You have to jump over them to get to the next level. You can even jump higher by jumping in mid-air. Every time you clear a stage, the floor color will change and the game's difficulty increases.

Including one line with a REM, Runner 2000 uses exact 10 lines and no extra media file. As an extra, you'll get a scan of a worn out cassette inlay of this game.

Can you create a game or a handy tool within 10 lines of basic with or without a media file? Don't wait too long. The challenge closes December 17th.

Wow, very addictive game Tongue...

Why are the files double packed, fisrt time with zip and second time without a extention????
is'nt it more easy to put all in just 1 ZIP file!

Hm, the download is a single ZIP file here that contains a .dsk, a .bas, a .txt and a cover image for people that want to save the game on tape.

Other than that, great to see another entry to the challenge! Keep 'em coming!

Wow, very nice! The animation of the running main character is very smooth - and the level design is not bad either. It does gradually increase in difficulty, right? Extra kudos for the retro-styled cassette artwork. I like! ^_^

Thanx for your comments! I'm more into assembler than MSX-BASIC, but I wanted to make at least something. I've recorded some ingame footage for those lazy youtubers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvYg6fzoNsc
Have fun and support the contest! ;)

Nice one! Reminds me of a simplified Canabalt (iOS runner game).
