Hi all,

I have a Casio MX-10 with its expansion KB-10.

I thought that KB-10 would also expand MX-10 RAM memory.

However, when turning it on with no cartridges inserted, the MSX-Basic screen displays "12341 bytes free".

This means that the MX-10 RAM remains at 16 KB.

Is this correct? If so, I think KB-10 works only as a slot "expander" for MX-10.

Can anyone explain more about the KB-10?

Thanks and Best regards!

mem in a slot is not in the same as the normal memory so it does not count a total

iirc the bios chose the slot with the bigger ram. So if you has 32k somewhere it will setup on that.

no no msx1 does that dos 2 does.
so first in slot 0-3 is most of the time standard ram and cardriges are 1 and 2
it will not even detect it

sure?, I know that msx1 will no checks if the ram is mapped and hoy many ram segments are, but I remember that it looks for the slotting page 2 being RAM. Is to say, when it does the procedure of filling up what is in every slot/sslot page , the four pages of every slot /sslot, looking for carts and roms, it also fills up if there is ram or empty.

I assume that it will place RAM in page 2 if finds one.
