I added dual PSG support using the PSG in the MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD. There are a couple of arcade games which use 2 PSG chips. (Some even use three! But that’s not supported .)
Thanks to l_oliveira for the suggestion and example code.
Just got VGZ file loading working .
Still some work in progress there but hey it’s functional.
@ Grauw: Xmas holidays are coming and I will definitely give VGMPlay another spin! Get ready for it!
P.S. I love start a day with MSX scene news coming!

I found the soundtrack of Ys 2 for the Sharp X1 Turbo in S98 format, converted it to VGM…
Now I’m listening to a beautiful OPM + PSG version of the Ys 2 soundtrack on my MSX! It’s very nice .
@Grauw
Where the link or how to convert it (instructions please)?
Grauw: youtube vid or it didn't happen!
What Manuel said.
@alexito I uploaded the pack here: Ys II (Sharp X1 Turbo) VGM
I used this S98 -> VGM conversion tool. It didn’t set the proper PSG frequency so I corrected it using vgm_ptch, it’s ignored for MSX playback but on PC it makes the PSG pitch an octave too high. Today I tagged and optimised the files and re-looped one of the songs just to wrap it up nicely.
Note that although S98 is a format similar to VGM, it has a lower resolution so a proper newly made rip would be ideal, but it’s easy to convert and you wouldn’t really hear the difference :).
Thanks Grauw. Really appreciate.
