oO
Just updated my 4gb VGM MFR SDcard again, and thought i'd share here also. note: these are all Unpacked/Renamed *.VGM files for use on 'normal' MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ machines. No *.VGZ files so No Long Loading/Unpacking time before tunes actually start to play. i also removed all m3u/png files.
if one would like/prefer the same content but Untouched with all *.VGZ files etc [for happy TurboR users], let me know and i'll upload it too.
Usage:
one can Write this *.IMG to a 4gb SDcard using Win32DiskImager, or just unpack it with 7zip to destination of choice and copy the content to whereever you'd like it.

Enjoy

Grauw. I seriously started making MSX music in DefleMask which plays great on MSX+SFG05.
So here you have it, a feature request:

10 bload "vgmbasic.bin",r
20 _vgmload("herrie.vgm")
30 _vgmplay
40 print "pretty much please"

Cool! Looking forward to that Smile.

Haha, well I’m not going to port VGMPlay to Basic, that environment is just too different and it wouldn’t make sense for me to try and adapt the entire code base.

However if the goal is to have a basic / assembly replayer for SFG + PSG music for use in music disks or games, although a simple standalone SFG + PSG only VGM replayer is not very difficult it would have quite a high memory consumption, it may make more sense to look into converting DefleMask or VGM files into a more compact replayable format. If there are concrete plans for such a thing, I’d be willing to look into it. Contact me when the time comes Smile.

If Genesis music if played and the 6th channel is used for percussion this shows up as TurboR PCM in VGMPlay. It stays mute though. Some incompatibility?

Is this for music you’ve downloaded from project2612.org, or music you made yourself in DefleMask? DefleMask probably uses stream control commands which I don’t support yet… The songs on PJ2612 use a different method to stream the PCM which I support.

On another note, I just uploaded 1.3 release candidate 4. A bugfix for OPN2 on OPNA playback, loop base & modifier support, and you can press the “any” key again to stop playback.

My TODO list for the final release:
