I saw this on the msx forums, it is a hack the Samsung SFD-321B for the turbo-R:
https://www.msxinfo.net/2013/06/09/replace-a-msx-turbo-r-dis...
Will it work however with my machine??
Any ideas/suggestions??
Cable is reverse connected
The connector notch slot is facing down on the Samsung...
Is there a way to flip the notch direction, in other words make it facing up?
Carefully remove the connector from the ribbon cable, and flip it around. If done carefully you may be able to do it without breaking the tabs on the side of the connector. Otherwise just buy another connector.
Alternatively, use a file to remove the notch so you can flip it around. But you can just as easily plug it in the wrong way around...

I will fix the connector when I return home tonight...
The drive has the write protect sensor and HD sensor which is great...

I guess I got to modify the sony or get another Samsung floppy drive...
mean while, until I get the drive functioning, I wanted to ask you about peripherals...
particularly the mouse, can an atari st stm1 mouse work on an msx machine? if not can it be modified to do so?
