don't know about the Atari ST mouse, but there is a section on compatibility with peripherals meant for other systems here: https://www.msx.org/wiki/General_Purpose_port

Cool thanks rderooy.
Also I just got another Samsung SFD321b I tried it with the old modifications and tried formating the disks, it did not work, even when there is a disk inserted, however the disk turns and the activity light is on...
So I will try with this new tutorial:
https://www.msxinfo.net/2013/06/
See the last two...
See the modified portions:

knowing that amstrad cpc-464 joystick is fully compatible with the msx, can I use an atari st to amstrad converter:

That converter will effectively convert a Atari ST or Amiga mouse into a Joystick. Your mouse will NOT function like a mouse, it would work as a joystick. Programs that expect a mouse will not work with it.

Also, be careful with the adapter and the second mouse button. I don't know on which pin it connects the second (right) mouse button, which could cause trouble.

If you look at the page that I linked to, you will see that although the MSX mouse connects to the same port as a Joystick, but it does not function like one.

I only know the following three solutions to use another mouse on MSX.

1/ UMJA USB joystick/mouse adapter:
https://www.msx.org/news/en/umja-msx-usb-joystick-adapter-re...
It works only with the newest mice (HID compatible). It is probably the best solution if the connector can be insered in the joystick port of your MSX.

2/ SNES Joypad/mouse adapter:
https://www.msx.org/wiki/Popolon_JoySNES
Pretty good solution but choose this solution rather for use SNES controller. The SNES mouse is robust but not excellent in accuracy.

3/ USB PS/2 compatible mouse adapter:
Good solution but if you want use a wireless mouse prefer the first solution.

I found SNES Joypad/mouse adapter and the appropriate mouse in ebay for a good price, but I see your comments on the snes mouse is not accurate, sadly i didn't find UMJA USB joystick/mouse adaptor on ebay. additionally , dose snes mouse glitch or is so bad and unusable?
also do anyone know how to modify SFD-321B, board revision REV SS-01?
