Sadly, I had almost no feedback from Carnivore2 users and manufacturers about testing the upcoming version with a few nice new features and important bugfixes. This is a serious demotivator...
How safe is it to put it in? As I do want to have fixes and new functions, however I do not want to end up with a bricked device and loose data :-)
I have read the release note. I will install it tomorrow and start using it. If you hear nothing it means it goes well :-)
I also have no USB blaster, so I didn't test the new FPGA code. I hope that you want to upgrade it on the MSX fair. Also, I saw that in last MSX fair in October, the Carnivore 2 didn't work properly on my expanded 8250. (It may have been a Nextor thing, though.) It didn't want to map the first partition to drive A:, so no boot. But it worked fine in my turboR, both times the cart was in slot 1.

Don’t take this the wrong way, it is not an attack against you in any way. Truly. I just quoted your post to help make a general remark.
I think one thing Alexey might be saying is do tell him if it is working well. Feedback does not have to only be given if something isn’t working…

I do have a USB blaster, but there is no carnivore2.pof in "Carnivore2_v250_BetaTesting_003.zip". Where can I find this pof file?

OK, thanks. I got all the necessary files.
Updating of the FPGA code will take a bit longer... There is no JTAG connector on the board. The holes are there, but no connector. I have to order a connector to solder it in :)

See this description with photos :)

soldered connector likely to make the problem closing the cartridge case afterwards... connectors are higher than available space between pcb and case. i tried once, and then i had to cut off the connector pins a little bit to shorten them (i was lucky to solder male connector so it was an option) and as a result the connectivity to the cable was even worse than if you push and keep it by hand

Ah, thanks. I only have to make a USB cable now :)
