Thanks.
We have updated the files to flash the newly-assembled Carnivore2 on a diskless machine with the special utility that is loaded via cassette interface and an image written to the physical start of a CF card. It has been successfully tested on Hitachi H3 and Daewoo CPC-400S already. If you would like to test this utility before it goes into the repository, this would be appreciated:
https://podrezov.com/temp/cf2flash_diskless.zip
Be careful when writing data onto a CF card - don't erase one of your hard disks! Use an alternative CF card for this operation as all its contents will be destroyed.
Modified the utility to dump IDE sectors and address space of any slot - CFTEST. And put it into repository together with the CF2FLASH, into the \Util\diskless folder. Maybe this will help someone trying to flash the newly-built Carnivore2 on a diskless MSX or to diagnose why the cartridge doesn't work...
We are happy to inform the community that we've got a new authorized manufacturer/seller of Carnivore2 in South America (Brazil). The Retro Hacker Store is now officially selling Carnivore2:
https://cristianoag.mercadoshops.com.br/
We've just updated the User Guide with the info on our new authorized seller. In addition, we've updated the info about the new Boot Menu and BIOS updating utilities for diskless MSX computers. You can find the updated User Guide here:
Something interesting: Carnivore2 sales to different countries (from our Russian manufacturer).
Thanks, but Netherlands is the same country as Holland ;-)
So please combine those.
Also, I think numbers are better readable in this case as there are many countries.
But... there are a lot of sales, great!
I think you can also replace Great Britain by U.K., the graph would probably be a little more readable with the addition of gray and a few bright colors (red, yellow for example) to avoid too many pale colors.
If you have the original Yamaha YIS-503III MSX2 from Russia, you might have noticed, that certain games with a so-called "delayed start" (Metal Gear 2, King Valley 2, etc.) won't work when launched from any FlashROM cartridge, including Carnivore2. This happens because the built-in CP/M ROM patches the hook area and overwrites the value of the slot where these games are supposed to start from. I've fixed the problem by patching the CP/M ROM to prevent the slot number modification in the presence of these games. What you need is to write the below ROM image into an EPROM of 27C256 type and put it into the left ROM socket on the computer's motherboard.
You can download the SubROM + patched CP/M image from here:
https://podrezov.com/cpm/subrom_patched_cpm_yis503.rom
And here's a little bonus: if you don't like how numbers are input on this weird machine (you need to press shift for numbers) with JCUKENG keyboard, you can also replace the BIOS+Basic ROM with this patched one:
https://podrezov.com/cpm/yis503iii_basic-bios2_shift.rom
However, you will first need to desolder the BIOS+Basic ROM from the motherboard, install a socket, write the patched image into an EPROM of 27C256 type and then install it into the freshly-soldered socket on the right.

You can update the Boot Menu to 2.52 easily, but without updating the firmware to 2.50 some new features won't work. Here are the instructions:
https://sysadminmosaic.ru/en/msx/carnivore2/carnivore2#how_t...
Make sure to skip points 5 and 6 to keep previously flashed games, update only the Boot Menu and IDE BIOS with the files from the repository. The firmware can be only updated with USB Blaster.
