The very nasty bug has been found and finally fixed. Please either download the original archive again or just download the newer archive with the fixed Boot Menus from here:

I took the chance to add 2 new features into the the fixed Boot Menu:
- The Boot Menu restores the original screen number and its resolution when exiting
- The configuration screen allows to set the ID port's auto-selection mode (the port is selected based on slot number)
We've just released the fixed version of the Boot Menu 2.41 into our Carnivore2 repository. This version has 1 important and 2 cosmetic bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug in Boot Menu that prevented the second/third Carnivore2 properly reading the configuration settings
- Fixed a bug in Boot Menu - Arabic/Korean warning was shown twice during boot
- Fixed a bug in Boot Menu - alert messages were shown on top of title screen if Dual-Reset was not active
If your Carnivore2 is working fine, you don't necessarily need to upload this Boot Menu version into your cartridge. Just stay with version 2.40.
The repository for Carnivore2 can be found here:

See the readme.txt file for the new bug reporting guidelines.
And finally, we have the RC (Release Candidate) version of v2.50 for final testing. You can get the files from here:

The following minor bugs were fixed:
- Fixed a bug in Boot Menu - Arabic/Korean warning was shown twice during boot
- Fixed a bug in Boot Menu - alert messages were shown on top of title screen if Dual-Reset was not active
Sadly, I had almost no feedback from Carnivore2 users and manufacturers about testing the upcoming version with a few nice new features and important bugfixes. This is a serious demotivator...
I'm still running the original beta test version without any issues.
I would like the boot to be faster though... E.g. skip the Carnivore 2 splash message. Can you take a look at that?

The splashscreen is only shown once on cold boot, when you reset your MSX, it is no longer shown. I can think of skipping it in the future versions if some button is pressed.
I'd rather configure it, otherwise I'll have to think about pressing some button... Anyway, anything (else) that can make the boot faster would be appreciated.
I think a setting to skip that message makes sense. I wish I was able to help testing but I don’t have a USB blaster (and feel uncomfortable to flash the FPGA that way).
Maybe I will apply the same setting for the splashscreen as for the autostart delay (0=skip, otherwise in seconds)...
That makes sense!

I think a lot of people are like sdsnatcher73, no USB blaster. And also the apprehension to do that.
As for me, I don't have the Carnivore 2.
