PS : I think the lateral strips might be a little bit too wide ... And the proportions are not right yet. I've checked against an Outrun screenshot, and the vanishing points do not match, resulting in a larger road at the drawing horizon on my version.

This looks great, very smooth!

Don't worry too much about making it a perfect clone - you might end up losing precious cycles, and it looks great as-is.

Looking really good! Smile Smile Smile I do like big and visible line markings and also prefer a distant vanishing point (like in Chase H.Q. or WEC Le Mans). But, hey, you are the artist and it's up to you! Hannibal

I know about that Cannonball project ;)

I did not peek into their code (first of all because I wanted to write my own, and secondly because I do not know java), but one website directly linked to that project was a major knowledge source for my engine, if only for the quality of their explanations : https://codeincomplete.com/posts/javascript-racer/

This one was also interesting, although it mainly focus on building road based on raster lines, more precisely on the ability to shift each line by a certain amount of pixels, which would be very cycle intensive on an MSX : http://www.extentofthejam.com/pseudo/

I chose the true 3D projected segments solution for my engine.

Would you gain fps (or otherwise free up resources for things like music etc.) if the output frame would be smaller? Say 192x128 pixels or something like that?
