I am thinking about organising a 2021 UK MSX meet up at the Retro Computer Museum in Leicester, there would be an admission charge, the Museum has a TurboR, MSX2, a number of MSX1's and I have my MSX2+ with a C2 and a MFRSCC+, should also have a Supersonics Playsoniqs cartridge this year, when it arrives.

There are plenty of great eateries in Leicester to go to after the meeting, there is local accommodation available at a good price if people wanted to travel.

This is of course dependant on the virus restrictions, hopefully these will be lifted by summer.

No dates as yet, probably June or July? Weekend? Who would be interested?

Andy at the RCM in Leicester says that there shouldn't be an issue.

I've got plenty of stuff that I can take, hopefully by then I will have my VR and 'darky' sound cartridge.

I visited the RCM earlier, to donate my old MSX printer, spoke to Andy who told me that they would be happy to hold an event, as soon as the Coronavirus restrictions have been removed. They are limited to 30 visitors at the moment.

These coronavirus restrictions have all been lifted in the UK now, hopefully, the world will follow suit.

I understand UK MSXers would be interested in attending but would any of our European friends be interesting in traveling? The Retro Computer Museum has a lot of retro gaming, although it would surely be a day devoted to MSX. The museum does charge and will be doing on our MSX open day, or any day for that matter!

The question I want to ask is, will our friends from the rest of Europe, or even the world, want to travel to Leicester?
East Midlands Airport is a short train journey to Leicester railway station if anyone is flying.
Eurostar terminates at St Pancras train station, where you catch another train to Leicester railway station.

Please leave comments if you are thinking of making the trip? It would be nice to have some hardware to sell as well?

I did think of coming there personally, however, the UK is not in the EU, and it is not on the Dutch government's "safe countries" list. It would involve having proof of vaccination and negative PCR tests etc.

I doubt that you would not want to come to the UK since we are an "unsafe" country? That is why I asked the question. We did raise the idea shortly before the CV started.

I am unvaccinated, so would not be able to come to the Nijmegen event, at this stage. I do not want to talk about my medical history on this forum, but there are medical reasons for me not getting vaccinated.

I guess you're right. But it's due the EU entry ban, apparently, and you're not vaccinated.
