Hello,

Great Idea.I hope the keyboard does not have weird behavior (ghosting), because sometimes, specially if you play games with cursor keys and space.
Emulators tend to not identify more that 2 or 3 keys pressed all together and sometimes 2 cursor keys+space do not work correctly.
I know this is a PC-style keyboard issue and can be hard to overcome.

In the other hand, do you think this interface can be used as an internal keyboard replacement?
It happened I have a VG8020 board with no keyboard and no case.
I am planning to do a kind of console with it so, it would be great to add a USB connector to it.

As far as I know, mostly all MSX have the same internal keyboard connections. As per the service manual, this should be doable.

I think I have a spare connector somewhere, will search for it the coming days and let you know...

No sorry, I only have a socket left, not the connector itself...

I fixed the ghosting problem by using the window keys as space as well. So the windows keys can be used for firing in games. The interface can also be used as internal keyboard replacement. The signals are equal.

Let's see if we are lucky the Sony F500, F700 and F900, and it appears soon, I would order several.

Connectors are ordered for the Sony machines. With some code tricks I should be able to get it working...

Is there a schematic diagram of the interface so I could build it myself?
Or can I only order one?

That's exactly the solution used in FPGA machines like OCM, Zemmix, etc. Windows key works as space also, so for Konami games specially it's fine.

Pretty cool solution, I like it. I’ve seen several projects similar to this, as well as a Cartridge that reportedly worked on any MSX. I do not believe any of them got GitHub’d though. Good job.
