Hi!!!
I'm no expert on MSX but I like them a lot.
I still wonder when I look and read about different cards.
GR8Net, Wozblaster, PlaySoniq and TRH9000, could such engineers as the creators of these particular cards do a "brainstorm" and jointly design one card containing all these projects in itself, is it even possible?
Card that would have NET, all sound cards, SD support, video 9990 and 16MB ram? There is a possibility? Cool

OPL4 is already included in GR8NET, so no Wozblaster needed. The thing is, GR8NET can't even offer all of its functionality all at once. It just runs out of subslots. That's why it has all those different modes. And because it's using so many subslots, you can't add 16MB ram. You would need 4 free subslots for that.

I have GR8NET - it's great but the problem is that I can't have OPL4 at the same time with the rest of the GR8 functions, because you have to switch to this or that mode Sad
And the issue of these subslots is already a limitation of the MSX architecture? Can it be extended in some way? Has anyone already thought about this?

Of course that was thought of, but it is complicated to achieve in a reliable and simple way for the user. There are many different configurations. The best is probably to take an MSX with two slots and insert the cartridge you need in addition.

You must also take into account that there are many software programs that do not manage the secondary slots or badly, so they do not work even if you have the required device in the cartridge. That's the downside of all-in-one.

Well I’ve seen Eugeny asking questions regarding V9990 so he might be cooking something Wink. Of course it can’t be added to existing GR8NET (there is no output connector) but maybe a GR8NET2 could have V9990 in FPGA. It’s an I/O only device so it won’t take up a subslot.
