Surely my question is already answered many times, but I ask now, because I don´t know too much about those tries to get One Chip MSXs to rest of the world.

I know there was Bazix (is this just one guy or group?) doing some co-operation to japan, but that´s all I know...

I would like to know what kind of tries have been made to get OCMs to us "western people"?

I understand that it could be hellishly difficult, but there should be a way to make contract for shipping tens or hundreds of unsold OCMs to Europe (and then sell those OCMs separately to loyal MSX´ers).

Surely there has been such activity, I guess, but if someone can give me facts what have been done and what haven´t and why there is no success for getting more OCMs here? (except the fact japanese are selling OCMs only for japanese) As there surely is many active MSX´ers who like to get OCMs. And OCM can´t be only one thing in the world which was sold only in certain country until someone had made contract to sell them in rest of the world.

And now, as they have dropped OCM price by 25%, it surely means their OCM business is not running the way they expected, so maybe now it is good time to make contract with those who own rights to OCM!

By the way, as my OCM knowledge is still very limited, I like to know what kind of keyboard fits to OCM? PC? MSX2?

Bazix used to be snout, rikusu and bart, now it's only snout and rikusu.

I think that there could be some problems with the distributions of the original files from Microsoft. After all, ASCII CORP of Japan only had the rights to make the distributions on Japan. If someone manage to get a working BASIC without the copyright notice from Microsoft it would be possible to make a worldwide release.

Similar licensing problems where detected on the MSX-Player by the MSX-MAGAZINE that was only licensed for use in Japan.

Does anyone know how is the licensing of the MSX name? Some millions and there should be possible to manufacture more MSX Computers, the software could be one of the more interesting parts of the projects. Even better with brand new stuff!

Another thing, in most places there are laws that prevented electronics without proper documentation or localized versions of the Software. Because of it their need to make a translation of some titles for commercial sale ...

Does anyone know how is the licensing of the MSX name?Look at e.g. the footer of this website: MSX is a trademark of MSX Licensing Corporation. But, the MSXLC's domain name, www.msxlc.com, just redirects to a company named ITNY & Partners. One of the partners apparently is Nishi, but I didn't see anything MSX related on that site, apart from the mentioning of MSXLC. Ah well...

I'll just forget about that OCM and go :RNFF:
