No more clones of existing games. Smile

That'd mean hardly any games would be made.. Tongue

A wonderful quote from a Brazilian MSX magazine in the 80´s:

"Be original. I am not saying that you cannot do your Pac-Man. Do it. But do it in a different way of every Pac-Man we know". Wink

Amen.

A port is nice, but add some new elements. Look at Witche's revenge. Basically a Runemaster clone but they added a LOT of extra's so imho this game is better than the Runemaster games in the gameplay department.

Well. Actually I'd love to see an arcade-alike pacman clone. The Namcot version, although highly playable, has very poor graphics and does not include the two player mode. I'm not against existing game clones if it means porting games from other systems and try to get the maximum out of the MSX capabilities.

I'd suggest to dig a bit in the early 80s arcade games. There are jewels there ready to be converted to MSX.

Why look so far back..80's ?? there are plenty of modern games which can be converted...
For example...after our little Knightmare3 project...we're planning to do a Turbo-R specific game (which means... alot of math)
and the game we've chosen to do is..... HITMAN (1)
Ofcourse in "fake" 3d...but we think it's quite doable..!
what do you think of this idea ?

I'd suggest the fundamental mantra for any kind of amateur development management: "just one project at the same time". In raw Spanish we say "Quien mucho abarca, poco aprieta". Center in one project, finish it and only then start thinking in the next one. If not, you'll finish with dozens of unfinished games. Believe me Crying

RyJuZo
do you mean something like this game ?

I do not think it is doable sorry.....
No way. Neither with magic.

IMHO with TR you could barely think to something similar to Wolfenstein 3D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C00n4rDUMNo

with tons of limitations on textures, number of allowed directions, and animations of the NPC's...
(IIRC some projects for 8bit - ZX- are already around in the net, but none
of them arrived to a final stage due to the fact that it is a lot of work.
All the promos on the net have a very bad frame rate - and an ugly aspect...)

It's often a choice between daring but with restrictions or perfectly doable MSX concepts. I prefer the latter btw.
