spl: yes, certainlly could not. but hey, this game was avaliable for the segagenesis/megadrive and supernintendo form. and they does not need the use of this 32 bit hardware to run these games.

..the resolution of the capcom system 1 is 384 x224.
we can use the 16 bit console gfx to make ours...

i dunno if the gfx9000 could reach that resolution. BUT look at the pcengine running this game...
we could find answers, right?

The specs I've put are the tech specs of 3DO ^^

PS: Capcom and Tectoy from Brazil did a very good version of Street Fighter II' for Sega Master System.

heh, yes, i know that are the specs for the 3do...
but even with a impressive graphics port, the tectoy version is far FAR in worst playability than this msx demo. In comparison, the chinese pirate street fighter 3 for nes has brilliant controls and fluid animantion.
if we use the mp3 cart, sms graphics and nes sf3 playability, we can port this one to the msx2(+)?

i dunno if the gfx9000 could reach that resolution. Mode B2 is 384x240 (over scan), which you can combine with 2, 4, 8 or 16 bpp. The Bx modes do not have hardware sprites though(*), so you'd end up with having to do the sprite handling yourself. On the other hand, even with software sprites you can do quite impressive stuff on the Graphics9000. See for example the Team Bomba Underwater Demo.

With a bit of color limitation you can also use P2 mode: 512x212 (like screen 7 on V9938), 4bpp. Unlike the V9938 however, you can use different palettes for the background and the sprites.

(*)Well, in Bx you have one 'sprite' of 32x32 pixels in 2bpp. Not really usable for a SF character Tongue

how the soft sprites work in the Bx modes?

They're not really sprites, just copies. But the g9k can do them really fast. No problem copying two large characters all over the screen at 30 Hz or more.
